Religious Belief Behind Plot to Blow up Planes

The trial of eight men accused of planning to bomb transatlantic airliners with home-made liquid explosives has heard that some of the men recorded "martyrdom videos". The videos were allegedly found at the home of one of the defendants, Assad Sarwar. All eight men deny conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to endanger the safety of aircraft.

"I'm doing this because the rewards, the big rewards that Allah has promised those who step on his path and Inshaallah [God willing] become martyr and the best of amongst those to me is the guarantee of Jannah [paradise] for myself and my family and those that are close to me."
